Panel - “How does culture affect our ability to innovate and make change happen ? A comparison of Paris and Los Angeles start-up ecosystems”

Join us and other change makers from Los Angeles and Paris as we kick off the Paris Los Angeles Innovation Bridge : a networking and collaboration space for investors, startups, corporates and officials looking to connect the two ecosystems to make more impact.

The panel will be hosted at Station F. Friday Sept 28th, 6.30pm and will provide access to the vast networking opportunities of the ChangeNow evening ceremony.

Keynote

Edwidge Lechevalier, Vice President Strategy at Disneyland Paris

Edwige joined Disneyland® Paris in 2004, and spent the first six years as part of the Strategic Planning group, where she focused on multiple cross-functional initiatives including Menu Planning, Investment Plan, and Merchandise Expansion for the site. In 2010, she relocated to Orlando to join the New Business Development group, exploring new growth opportunities for the segment. From 2013 to 2017, she has served as Director Global Development, based in Glendale. Edwige has played an important role on several large-scale projects including Walt Disney Parks & Resorts long-term planning, Walt Disney World Lodging Strategy and Disney Cruise Line expansion.

In 2017, she came back to Disneyland Paris and is now Vice President, Strategy and Performance Optimization. Edwige is responsible for providing high-level strategic support to all business functions, ensuring that all business considerations are properly integrated in order to guarantee increased coherency and greater efficiency.

Kenneth Schlenker, General Manager Bird France

Kenneth Schlenker is a veteran entrepreneur and operator, with a track record building and growing innovative technology companies in the US and Europe. Today, Kenneth is the General Manager for Bird in France, a technology company working to reduce cars on the road, cut carbon emissions, and serve cities with sustainable transit solutions.

Kenneth was previously founder and CEO of Stellar Base, a software studio, and online art marketplace ArtList (acq. by artnet). Previously, Kenneth was a product marketing manager for Google. Kenneth has a master’s degree in finance and strategy and a BA in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris.  Kenneth is also an avid art supporter and collector, named in the Art+Auction Magazine's Power 100 List recognizing his contribution to innovation in the global art market

Luben Pampoulov, Co-Founder and Partner of GSV Asset Management

Luben Pampoulov is co-founder and Partner of GSV Asset Management, and led GSV’s early investments in Spotify, Lyft, Dropbox, Palantir, Rover and Coursera.

Prior to starting GSV, Luben worked at ThinkEquity Partners, an asset management and investment banking firm focusing on venture capital and emerging growth companies.

Based on his multinational background from Europe and the U.S., Luben offers unique perspective on some of the world’s most promising emerging economies. His professional credentials are complemented by his experience as a world-class tennis player — competing on the ATP Tour, being national champion in Austria and Bulgaria, and leading UCLA as its Captain and #1 player to win the NCAA Championship in 2005.

Fabrice Dumans, Founder and CEO of Timyo

The idea of Timyo came from his belief that email is a great tool that has gone wrong and that its current use is no longer adapted to the hyper-connected world in which we live. Timyo wants to offer busy people and companies a better email experience, one more productive and stress-free. 

Fabrice Dumans is the founder and CEO of Timyo. With 20 years experience as a business executive in technology companies, he brings an unique expertise and a fresh look on our relationship to time. 

Fabrice lives in Los Angeles since August 2013 to be at the right place where “software is eating the world”.

Carine Saloff-Coste, Director of Economic Development for the City of Paris

Carine Saloff-Coste has joined the City of Paris Council in 2007 and is now its Director of Economic Development, Employment and Higher Education. 

She began her career as a telecommunication engineer at SIEMENS transport on the development of line 14 of the Paris metro. She then worked for the Banque de France.

In 2003 she moved to Boston to work on behalf of the Ile de France Region and the Essonne Department to set up a promotion and prospection office for the biotechnology sector. 

Back in France, she became Director of Planning and Development at the General Council of Essonne.

Charles-Edouard Girard, Executive Chairman of GuesttoGuest and HomeExchange

Charles-Edouard Girard is a graduate of Centrale Paris where he earned a degree in engineering.

He began his career as in consulting firm as a digital marketing specialist for the publishing and pharmaceutical industries. He later embraced an entrepreneurial career and founded two e-commerce companies. Charles-Edouard acquired a strong experience as a business executive and gained a deep knowledge of digital marketplaces.

Executive Chairman of GuesttoGuest and HomeExchange, Charles-Edouard is based in Paris, the father of three children and an enthusiastic home exchanger. 

In 2018, he received the “Prix Groupama Créateur de Confiance” for GuesttoGuest
